You can go to giant bakeries like Boudin for a tour of how sourdough bread is made. Or you can skip learning about starters and fermentation and go to Acme Bread Company for our favorite bread in the city instead. Their SF outpost is set up in the Ferry Building, so if you go on a farmers market day, you can get things like jam and cheese to go with your bread. Find a spot outside, sit, and try not to eat a whole loaf in one sitting.
