Your requisite Prohibition-inspired speakeasy in Chelsea with a quirky name and a secret door? That’d be Bathtub Gin. Walk through Stone Street Coffee to get in – there is a “bouncer” (you are dangerously close to Meatpacking, after all), but you can pretty easily grab a reservation on OpenTable to avoid any issue. As the name would indicate, gin is the focus. And there’s a bathtub.
If you’re the type to get really excited about really good cocktails, Raines continues to be an excellent choice for special occasion drinking.
These days, Employees Only is not the hotspot it once was. But while the crowd might have lost a step, the cocktails have not, and it’s still packed with people every time we stop by.
Death & Co. feels like it was built just for us. The drink list is ridiculous…it’s nearly impossible to settle on something because each beverage is intriguing and awesome. And thankfully the food doesn’t suck either.
Drink a martini under a big chandelier, or dance at a spot hidden in a subway station.
