Dokodemo is a counter-service spot in a little basement space in the East Village. The menu consists of several Japanese street foods, and everything is made-to-order on a big grill that you can see. They do yakisoba, okonomiyaki (flour and cabbage pancakes), and takoyaki (balls of batter with your choice of meat). The food is on the heavier side, and it would probably be a little better after a few beers, although it's still good for a quick snack that isn’t dollar pizza. The takoyaki come out hot and squishy, and it’s fun to watch them get made.
