In Plaquemine Lock, London has a decidedly pubbish pub in Angel making Creole food in the form of po’boys, oysters rockefeller, and shrimp and grits. In truth, you don’t really come here for the food. It’s mostly passable (but lacking some of the oomph you would hope to find around Louisiana), but it’s a comfortable bar and dining area for a few drinks and some fried snacks. More compelling is its toe-tapping atmosphere, with live jazz playing daily in the evenings and Saturdays from midday onwards.
