Just like Salt & Straw up the street, Blue Star is a Portland kid trying their hand at making it in Hollywood. And also like Salt & Straw, Blue Star proves it can play in the big leagues. The lines at this donut shop can be long, and the pace is gentle. Not to say Blue Star has bad service - it’s just that every single person at the counter is having an emotional breakdown trying to decide which donut they want. It takes time. The O.G. with horchata glaze is our favorite, but if you’re a bacon on your dessert kind of person, you can’t go past the Real Maple Bacon.
