Tacos Chukis used to be “that secret taqueria in that building on Broadway with the tattoo parlor and nail salon,” but the entire universe has been in on it for some time. And for good reason—the quickly-prepared Mexican food here is delicious. Hop in for lunch or a pre-bar-hop dinner with some friends, wait in line and look around for a table, order a plate of the house tacos (adobada grilled pork, avocado salsa, onion, cilantro, and a seared square of grilled pineapple) and carry on with your day knowing you’ve made a good decision.

House Tacos

At Tacos Chukis, you can choose your protein between carne asada, pollo asado, adobada, nopales, or frijoles. But you only need to be concerned with the house taco option. Spice-rubbed and seared pork combines with sticky melted cheese, tangy avocado salsa, and a caramelized pineapple. Sweet, smoky, salty, and tart, the house tacos have it all.

Baby Burrito

Don't expect rice in this miniature burrito—it's only stuffed with protein, salsa, onion, and cilantro. It's a good way to go if you prefer flour tortillas over corn, especially because the whole thing gets a nice sear on the griddle.

Mulitas

While certainly tasty, we wouldn't drop everything to order the mulitas here. If you want a surplus of melted cheese, just grab more house tacos.
