The Culpeper is a designer East London gastropub with a restaurant on the first floor, and a pretty garden and rooftop terrace on the top floor. The restaurant does high-end British dishes like wood pigeon Wellington or monkfish with shellfish bisque, and the obligatory asparagus with Hollandaise sauce. The food’s by and large good, and it’s roomy enough to hit with a group of mates or to take a chilled-out date for a one-two dinner and drinks combination, all without having to actually leave the premises.
