The Sexton is basically folk music in the form of a drinking establishment (and by “folk music” we actually mean Mumford & Sons). There’s reclaimed wood everywhere, lots of vintage photos, and the bartop is a cassette tape DIY project. Order some hush puppies or bacon mac and cheese and have the bartender surprise you with a custom cocktail. This place is great for a first date or to kick off a night of drinking in Ballard.
Good Bar is a great spot in Pioneer Square for charcuterie and some cocktails. And the happy hour goes until 7pm.
Bramling Cross is an excellent gastropub in Ballard where you could take your parents or a date.
If you end up in Georgetown needing sit-down Mexican, you have little choice but to go to La Catrina. It’s not the best, but the tamales are good.
Ballard Pizza Company has some of the best New York Pizza in town, and it’s a great spot for a big group hang or casual weeknight meal.
