At heart, Tramshed’s a restaurant that specialises in British steaks and roast chicken, with the latter served upside down in a mound of chips. While the food’s fine - get the beef croquettes and Yorkshire pudding starter, which arrives with a good chicken liver pate - it’s what we’d primarily describe as a functional restaurant with superior ambience. The latter’s provided by the huge space (it’s an old shed for trams - hence the name) that easily swallows big groups whole, and there’s loads of modern art hung all over the space, giving it a trendy East London vibe. Head here when you’re with a group, or you have picky eaters in tow.
Oh, and there’s a huge formaldehyde cow preserved in glass, mounted in the middle of the room. Can’t forget that.
