Our main pet peeve about Dirty Bones it that they proclaim on their website to serve food that is “New York Influenced”. That’s all well and good, but it also doesn’t really mean anything. New York influence on food is as varied as it is in London. Sure, hot dogs and bagels and pizza are a big part of the city’s DNA, but it’s also so much more than that.

Regardless, Dirty Bones’ definition of New York food is fried chicken, burgers, BBQ, and yes, hot dogs. For the purposes of this review, we’ll go along with it.

Generally, this places is one big pile of mediocre. The one dish we do have some fondness for is the lamb topped fries, something we’ve never encountered in New York. That said, it would easily make the “top ten chips in London” list that we will certainly write someday.

Beyond that, Dirty Bones is basically a decent place for some cheap and reasonable eats, but we have no problem coming out and saying that it’s not as good as many people make it out to be. And if that’s not New York City, we don’t know what is.
