Boris Johnson lives down the road, but don’t let that scare you away: this is one of the best pubs in Islington. Cask ales and craft beers are the big draw, but they also do cocktails. This is the sort of pub you go to if you want to settle down for an afternoon of schmoozing or watching the big match on a large-screen TV. If you want a meal at the weekend, book.
One of the best bars in London, and definitely in Islington, 69 Colebrooke (also known as The Bar With No Name) has excellent, unique cocktails.
The Gate is a vegetarian spot in Islington that meat-eaters won’t complain about. And if you don’t feel like going healthy, have some cocktails.
The Hops & Glory is a cozy pub in Islington with a straightforward but reliable menu. Beware, you might smell like a pork chop after coming here.
