Bar Velo is a little cocktail bar beneath the JMZ in Williamsburg, and they serve an all-vegan menu. The interior looks like an early-20th-century French cafe, and it’s a great place choice if you’re trying to get intimate with someone who doesn’t eat meat. It’s also good for a drink and a light snack, and even non-vegans will appreciate the atmosphere. Carnivores might not go nuts over the food, but it’s than your average vegan stuff, and they also do brunch. And if live music is a priority, they have it Tuesday through Saturday (starting around 8:30pm).
