One of the best dinner deals in the city exists at Pink Onion, a casual shoebox-sized Italian spot in the Mission. And since the words “affordable” and “Italian dinner” are as non-existent a pair as SF and flat sidewalks, you should add this place into your weeknight rotation, stat. The Combo Meal (your choice of an appetizer or salad, whole pizza, pasta, and dessert) runs you only $60, and if you come on a Wednesday, you get a bottle of wine thrown in, too. While a deal this good could raise skepticism about the actual quality of the food, don’t worry. The creative pies are excellent—especially the Hotboy with soppressata and hot honey—and hearty pastas round out the carbohydrate extravaganza. Always order the marinara-drenched meatballs to start.
