As far as we know, Cafe Mozart is the only German restaurant located in the back of a deli in Chinatown, and if that doesn’t pique your interest, you’re reading the wrong website. If it does, make your way past the the meat display and shelves of Kinder chocolates and you’ll find a spirited grandma playing traditional drinking songs on an accordion (7-9pm most nights) and beer served in little boots. It’s a plain spot, but it compensates for the lack of windows with its menu, which includes three preparations of schnitzel, 11 types of sausage, and 14 different side dishes (we like the spaetzle and German potato salad). Come for a group dinner, but know that all delis will pale in comparison afterward.
