If you’ve heard about Tim Ho Wan, it’s likely because this dim sum chain’s original Hong Kong location has the distinction of being the “world’s cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant.” The restaurant now has a location on 10th Street and 4th Avenue, and put simply, they make some very good dim sum. But there are quite a few places in this city making good dim sum, so it’s really up to you whether you want to spend an hour or two of your life waiting to see if it’s the very best. If you’re alone (or maybe with one other person), you can stand at the bar area and order, likely without a wait - that’s the way to go if you just want to try some of the food.
