Emissary on P St. in Dupont Circle is a run-of-the-mill coffee shop that is popular with the Georgetown University crowd. You’ll find freshmen with a twinkle in their eyes along with the serious grad students discussing international politics. The menu is heavy on avocado toast, but it’s solid cafe food. There’s also beer, wine, and a few cocktail options. The wifi here sucks, which might be why the work-from-home crowd is grimacing over their coffee. But it’s a cute place for college students looking to break up the monotony of campus or anyone looking to go offline for a bit.
