This place is 100% tourist central, but the food is honestly very good, if a little gimmicky at times. They are probably best known for a hybrid between hamburger and a McMuffin with foie gras. It's awesome, but it's been around for a while and is definitely an eye roll-inducing item. But you are a tourist, after all, so you're allowed to indulge a little and give in to the comforts of like-minded people. This is the place we go when we don’t mind a crowd, don’t want to think, and know we’re just going to get easy, fun, delicious tapas. Cal Pep serves a similar purpose - if you want to try one pretty-place that your fellow tourists have probably told you about, these are your two choices.

Cal Pep

Although it can be gimmicky, Cal Pep is very good. You'll probably see a lot of tourists, but you'll be distracted enough by the good tapas to care.

Disfrutar serves high-end and delicious food in a laid-back environment.

Hoja Santa image

Hoja Santa is “fancy Mexican” done right. Order as much as possible- everything on the menu is mind-blowingly good.

Chipirones and bomba at Jai-Ca in Barcelona, Spain.

The tapas selection at Jai Ca is excellent, but we're partial to the bombas.
