Nitecap is a speakeasy located in the basement beneath a restaurant (Schapiro’s) on the Lower East Side. Unlike Attaboy (another nearby speakeasy), you don’t have to be let in by a host/gatekeeper, so despite the equally-expensive cocktails it feels relatively casual. It can get packed, but if you can manage to snag a roomy booth it’s a great time for a group.

Death & Co. feels like it was built just for us. The drink list is ridiculous…it’s nearly impossible to settle on something because each beverage is intriguing and awesome. And thankfully the food doesn’t suck either.

If you need to go out and dance on the Lower East Side, Home Sweet Home is, at this point, a classic option. It's divey, but there's big disco ball.
