Jacoby’s is the kind of place that could convince anyone to move to Texas. Yes, there’s Southern food. But the space (part ranch, part country club) is also charming as hell, and there’s a picnic table-covered, wide open backyard overlooking the river that’s picturesque enough to make you feel like you’ve escaped town for the hill country. On the whole, the food won’t blow your mind - but it doesn’t need to. It’s highly satisfying and comforting, feelings that are increased exponentially by the setting. If you come here and skip the chicken fried steak or onion rings then you’ve done the whole thing wrong.
