Cub

Cub is a new restaurant-slash-bar from the same guys behind excellent cocktail bars Dandelyan and Super Lyan. There’s a lot of ‘concept’ to get your head around here - first, they do a ‘cocktail-led’ tasting menu, which basically means you’ll eat a short four-course dinner of creative small plates paired to a cocktail. Second, the whole restaurant focuses on being as low-waste as possible, from the food (you’ll see ingredients like Japanese knotweed, or compost smoked carrot) to recycled lampshades and furniture in the restaurant itself. We went in expecting a completely insane and slightly pretentious experience, but we left really enjoying ourselves. It’s obviously somewhere you visit for an experience instead of a random dinner, but at £45 a pop, it’s definitely worth checking out for the quality of food and cocktails.
