The Beer Plant
Included In
Bridging the gap between food trailers and fine dining, The Beer Plant is a mid-range gastropub in a nondescript Tarrytown strip mall with craft beer, cocktails, and upscale bar food with a vegan twist. That means you’ll find the requisite burgers, loaded fries, and “wings,” but made with beet-and-mushroom patties, cashew cheese, and cauliflower, respectively. The cauliflower wings arrive the size of baseballs and are breaded a little too heavily to become your new favorite (MLB enthusiasts excluded). But they make an otherwise solid start to the meal and pair well with the roughly 40 draft beers and ciders on the wall. On the menu, expect to find a pretty classic eggplant parm, grilled mushrooms in various shapes and sizes, a couple of burgers, and even a portobello wellington with walnut pate and puff pastry. It might not be a one-for-one substitute, but it’s an interesting twist on a classic.
