Let’s call out the elephant in the room - what exactly is the West Hollywood Design District? Well, it’s an area of town you’ve always spent a lot of time in, now you finally have a fancy name to call it. Spanning roughly from Melrose to Beverly and Doheny all the way to La Cienega, the district isn’t exactly small, and has some major attractions within its boundaries. The world-class shopping on Robertson? The terrifyingly large Pacific Design Center? Kate Hudson sipping Pinot and signing contracts at Craig’s? It’s all here for you.

Also here for you? Great restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. It’s tough spending a full day of dropping money on custom interior furnishings, and sometimes you just need to take a break and recharge somewhere nice. But not every place is created equal. We’ve rounded up the best of the best, giving you exactly what you need to be eating and drinking as you shop your glorious heart out in the Weho Design District.

Perfect For:Starting Your Shopping Spree Off Right

It’s 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday, and you’re feeling aggressive. There’s a full day of power shopping ahead, and the only way to start it off right and not morph into the demon of West Hollywood is the juice flight at Verve Coffee. 10 premium housemade juices (with everything from a lemon ginger shot to something they call Charcoal Lemonade) that will wake you up and start you on your way. Bonus: No coffee shakes.

Perfect For:When The Midday Lull Hits Hard

You just struck out again looking for that chaise lounge, it’s 1pm, and you need a major breather. Head immediately to Alfred In The Alley for our favorite coffee in the district and the perfect pick-me-up for the rest of the day. They also have snacks if you need further nourishment (the Yeastie Boys bagel truck is there) and a great outdoor seating area for a quick kick-back and a much-needed recharge.

Perfect For:Celebrating Yourself After Purchasing The $10,000 Couch Of Your Dreams

It wasn’t an easy day, but you came in big and walked out with the couch of your dreams. And now it’s time to celebrate yourself (and your savings account) with one of the better burgers in the city. Cecconi’s black truffle burger is only served during their happy hour (3pm - 7pm, Mon - Sat), and it is downright fantastic. The layer of pancetta on tops cuts through truffle perfectly, and the whole thing isn’t so large you won’t be able to function afterwards either. Sweat it out on your new couch another day.

Perfect For:Buying A Bikini And Suddenly Being Nutritious

You didn’t come to Robertson specifically for a bikini, but sometimes that’s just how the shopping cookie crumbles. And suddenly, you’re thinking about your body and that impending trip to Playa Carmen in February. While the area is littered with fantastic healthy food, our go-to is always Le Bowl over at Zinque on Melrose. Brown rice, avocado, tomato, arugula, cilantro, egg white frittata, and everything else to get you looking right and tight.

Perfect For:Grabbing A Stiff Drink After A Long Day Of Lamp Shopping

Is there a better way to unwind after a grueling day than on Gracias Madre’s patio? We think not. And after staring at lamps for the last four hours, you need a stiff one, and you need it now. It’s tough to go wrong with any of the cocktails here (especially if you’re mezcal drinker), but our move is always La Quinceanera - their famous snowcone cocktail with kiwi, mint, lime, and all the tequila your body and soul needs.
