Mudspot is the all-day cafe version of a coffee truck in the East Village, and they do weekday breakfast and weekend brunch. They have a garden in the back and serve things like huevos rancheros and an avocado sandwich with a fried egg and pickled jalapenos. It’s cash only, comfortable, and has a bunch of healthy, vegetarian options.
Grounded is a homey coffee shop on a quiet street in the West Village, and it's good spot to read a book or do some work while you eat something.
The Roost is a bar that happens to also a be a coffee shop in the daytime. So feel free to work here during the day then bring a date at night.
Two Hands is a coffee shop and cafe in Little Italy full of very nice and very good looking Australians. But yeah, you’re there for a latte. Sure.
