Like the one in Nolita, Tacombi’s Bleecker street location feels a little like a a charming street in Mexico: there are murals, string lights, and lots of people who are happy to be there. They open at 11am everyday of the week, so come here for breakfast tacos at brunch or a weeknight dinner to reunite with your friend who you haven’t seen since they started their own air freshener startup.
Tacombi has an awesome Mexican courtyard, and gets serious points for creativity. All in all, we back the place, especially now that they have a liquor license.
La Contenta is a Mexican bar and restaurant on the Lower East Side that’s the ultimate neighborhood hang for fish tacos and tequila.
La Esquina may not be the most authentic Mexican in town, but it is one of the few establishments to properly spin everything we love about NYC restaurants into a taco.
Gran Electrica serves simple, excellent Mexican food and creative cocktails. It also has a great back patio.
