A visit to Leopold’s means you’re going to drink a lot of beer. It’s simply the nature of things at this German-Austrian party cabin in Russian Hill. The inside looks like an alpine lodge with a deer head on the wall and a long wooden table in the middle lending itself to a communal vibe. Due to heavy pours and giant two-liter boots, this place is always at a decibel level that your doctor would probably be concerned about, but that’s exactly why it’s a fun time. While the weiner schnitzel is a bit dry, other dishes like the ooey-gooey-cheesy kasespatzle and the rich flatbread flammekueche are the perfect sides for all that beer you ordered.
