Planning a meal with someone who's really excited about taking pictures of brightly colored food? Here's where to take such a person.

You know who we're talking about. That friend of yours from LA who somehow amassed a following on Instagram by posting pictures of her doing yoga and the occasional tile floor. She doesn't have a huge following, but she acts like she does. And now she's in town and absolutely must show all eleven thousand of her followers the best restaurants in New York with potted succulents on the table.

So where do you take someone who is looking to "influence" more than "eat?" Here's our list of fourteen places. Good luck.

Greecologies is a bit of a neighborhood secret in Chinatown/Little Italy/Nolita, unless you are a fairly famous model or one of those guys that exclusively wears "joggers." The homemade Greek yogurt is incredible, and comes served in quaint little terra cotta pots.

Blank Slate is bringing the cute to the 30s, and they brought avocado toast and breakfast sandwiches too. The people who work in this area seem to appreciate their presence quite a bit, as Blank Slate is always busy - but not so busy that you can't score a seat during the day. This is a good move if your fairly famous Instagrammer has a meeting at the nearby WeWork, which she definitely will.

Vinegar Hill House is still one of the more aesthetically pleasing environments in this city, both inside and out. The bar is a great place to hang and have a meal and a cocktail, and the back garden is one of the best spots in the city in warm weather months. You might even see a celebrity - a real one.

Natural light, acai bowls, matcha lattes, and Australian people. This is what New York is made of, apparently. We love Two Hands, and there are plenty of pretty pictures to be had here. Just know you will not be the only one with this idea. All of New York City's high school students are in on it too.

All you need to do is look at the bar in the photo to see why Sisters is on this list. Come during the day, when the natural light shines in through the skylight and good brunch food is served. If you come at night, there's a pretty awesome fried chicken sandwich on the dinner menu.

A small but very cool coffee shop on Broome Street. If you are a street artist or simply interested in dressing like one, this is a great place to hang out and take pictures of your drink.

Maman is a French cafe in Soho where the white paint is chipped in all the right places. If your friend keeps saying, "I really want to go Beacon!" but you can't bear to think of traveling in a car for two hours with them, the vibes here will at least be similar. Try the chocolate chip cookie.

The food alone is enough to make Lilia one of NYC's best restaurants, but the giant windows and white washed walls also make it one of the best places to take a picture of food as well. Now you'll just have to find out how fairly famous one needs to be to get a table here.

An adventurous addition to this list - you will not find avocado toast or any sort of food trend at Wildair. The menu is experimental, excellent, and ever changing. Your Instagram friend might not find the best picture from the trip at this meal, but she will be cooler for having been here. Maybe save this one for Snapchat.

Lighthouse has that perfect "Brooklyn vibe" that will make your Instagram friend especially excited to use a Williamsburg geotag. Plus, natural light, a runny egg-topped burger, and lots of healthy options.

Talk your friend into eating pasta by listing the very interesting-sounding ingredients in the ones here. Spelt bucatini with pastured chicken confit? Squid ink corzetti with peekytoe crab, uni, shiro dashi, and sorrel? That's going to make for a good caption.
