L’Express is an Infatuation MVP - a staple in the repertoire that is good for just about everything from casual dinner with friends, to business lunch, to drinks and crossing your fingers on a first date.

The menu sports French classics like escargot and duck a l’orange, but good ole USA eats like burgers and sandwiches are plentiful as well. Brunch, lunch, and dinner are all excellent and unshakably consistent, but we especially love this 24 hour French brasserie for the New York City menagerie that it becomes at three in the morning. Late at night the restaurant fills with a colorful crowd of drunks looking for something other than a diner omelet to help them survive the morning. We’re with them.

Somehow that lamb burger tastes even better when you’re on the precipice of a full on black out.

Food Rundown

Onion Soup Gratinee

The best French onion soup you can find in the city. It’s incredibly well balanced and flavorful with an amazing layer of bubbly cheese on top. I order this to start every meal at L’Express.

Steak Tartare

A tasty and flavorful steak tartare served with greens and fries. If you’re a tartare novice this probably isn’t the one to start with, as it’s an entree portion and can be a little much if you don’t absolutely love raw steak.

Grilled Tuna Nicoise Salad

A classic Nicoise salad with green beans, potatoes, egg, olives, capers, and an excellent rare tuna. This is a nice lunch option and is incredibly satisfying.

Forest Mushroom Ravioli

Mushroom ravioli in a cream sauce. Heavy, earthy, and delicious.

Lamb Burger

One of the best things on the extensive menu at L’Express. The lamb burger is made with Moroccan spices and is served on a buttery brioche bun. It’s fantastic and a great way to switch it up from the standard burger.

Le Burger

The beef burgers at L’Express are also solid. On late night visits I keep things civilized and order the bleu cheese and a glass of wine. This is usually followed by a nap at the table.
